About the Artist
Jeff Bryant has been painting Big Sur for more than 25 years. Traditionally his work has been in acrylic – his style is Plein Air – true to the scene’s actuality. His work of Big Sur hangs in 65 venues – corporate offices, residences and private collections.
The Big Sur Watercolor Series for Pelican Network presents another side of Jeff. It shows Jeff’s insight to the nuances, the constantly changing colors and the range of perspectives that are uniquely Big Sur. This is the Big Sur he feels – it is in the medium that shows the soul of the places and the artist.
Jeff Bryant has a life long abiding interest in the life and art of Central California. Raised in Morro Bay and Atascadero, Jeff spent summers in the Big Sur wildlands. After college he became a fast rising Silicon Valley Fortune 500 electronics executive. But his passion for indiginous cultures and nature got the best of him, and he quit the corporate jungle to pursue his art. Over the past eight years he has camped and climbed all over the California coast to paint it.
