SNOWY PLOVER volunteers needed: Monitors are needed at local beaches, north and south bay, to help protect snowy plover nests. These endangered dune-nesting birds are threatened by beachgoers, unaware that they and their dogs are causing the adult birds to abandon their nests and killing their tiny chicks.For more information email:

Natural Bridges, Santa Cruz, has superb Docent-Naturalist opportunities.Classes for tour leaders in the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary begin Wednesday, Sept. 24 and continue Wednesday evenings and Saturdays through October 22.
