The Authors

Don West, award winning journalist and author, covered the San Francisco Peninsula for thirty years.

Joseph W. Cotchett, lawyer, author and environmentalist, has considered the coast his home for 40 years - much of that working to preserve the history of the coast. He has served as Chairman of the California State Parks Commission.

Leslie Cotchett, whose photography reflects her passion for capturing the coast's essence, grew up in San Mateo County taking pictures.
The Complete Guide to the San Mateo Coast highlights:

The wonder of this special place is still very much intact because it has been so well protected by people who love it so. This book celebrates the great conservation efforts of those people, and helps us all share the rewards of preservation and protection.
