Big Sur Lodge - in a redwood forest by the Big Sur River - is a mecca of trails and views to the spectacular Santa Lucia Mountains. The Lodge is harmoniously set in a grand classic California Park.

Accommodations are very nice and modern - but the feel of Big Sur Lodge is woodsy and rustic.

Big Sur River roars out of the Santa Lucia Mountains to laze through the Big Sur Valley.

Trail's Head Cafe and Restaurant

The Big Sur Lodge restaurant is set in a redwood forest with a deck by the lovely and pristine Big Sur River. This is the home of Big Sur Cuisine - imaginative dishes prepared with local, all organic natural ingredients - Fresh locally grown organic flowers and a friendly attentive staff.

Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park is a wonderland.
A short hike through redwoods, along a babbling brook, arrives at Pfeiffer Falls.

Trails Head Cafe river deck

The Big Sur River meanders around in the Park through forests of ancient Redwoods and riparian woodlands. Many fine swimming holes can be found in this stretch of the River.

Pfeiffer Falls

Some of the best trail heads of Big Sur's fabled hikes are at the Lodge. A popular hike through redwoods to Pfeiffer Falls begins at the Lodge. Close to the cottages is a nature interpretative center and historical museum.

Big Sur Park Trail Map

The Pfeiffer Big Sur sister state park, Julia Pfeiffer Burns, is home to the only California waterfall that drops into the Pacific, and several idyllic redwood groves and ocean coves. There is a short trail to this waterfall, and a longer one inland to another, Canyon Waterfall in an old redwood grove.
